1. Who this page is for
This page explains how a guardian or driver deletes their personal Tripkoz account, operated by Tripkoz Technologies, and what happens to the data afterwards. It supplements our Privacy Policy and is published separately because Google Play requires a deletion route that does not depend on having the app installed.
It does not cover closing an organisation-wide subscription. A school or fleet ending its contract with us is a different process, handled under the Cancellation Policy by an administrator.
2. Deleting from inside the app
This is the fastest route and it needs no approval from us:
- Open the Tripkoz app and sign in;
- Go to Settings;
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
The deletion runs as part of that request. You are signed out on the spot, the access token that made the call is revoked immediately rather than being left to expire, and every other session on every other device is revoked with it.
3. Deleting without the app
If you have uninstalled the app, lost access to your device, or cannot sign in, write to privacy@tripkoz.com from the email address or with the phone number registered on the account, with the subject line "Delete my account".
Tell us which it is — guardian or driver — and, if you have it, the name of the school or fleet you are attached to. We may ask one question to confirm you are the account holder; we will not ask for a password, an OTP, or a copy of an identity document.
We action verified requests within seven (7) days and confirm in writing when it is done. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you may also raise the request with our Grievance Officer at grievance@tripkoz.com.
4. What is erased
Deleted outright, in both routes:
- Your name, email address, phone number and password;
- Your profile photograph, and the copy held in object storage — not merely the link to it;
- For drivers, uploaded identity documents such as licence scans, which are personal to you and serve no purpose to the organisation once you have gone;
- Every push-notification registration, so a deleted account stops receiving trip and SOS alerts on any device that still has the app installed;
- Every active session and refresh token.
Your email address and phone number are released for re-registration, so you can sign up again later with the same details if your school or fleet re-invites you.
5. What your school or fleet keeps
Some records are the organisation’s, not yours, and deleting your account does not delete them. A trip that ran, a boarding log, a route assignment and a safety inspection belong to the school or fleet that operated them, and are frequently records they are obliged to hold.
What we do instead is sever the link and strip the person from it:
- Your driver or guardian record is detached from your login, so it can no longer be used to sign in;
- Your photograph is removed from that record;
- Your user row is retained only so that references from those operational records stay valid, and is stripped of every personal field — the name reads "Deleted User", the contact details are gone, and the account is marked deleted.
The result is that the organisation keeps an intact operational history with no personal data of yours in it.
6. Passenger and child records
A passenger is enrolled by the organisation, not by you, and a child’s record therefore does not disappear when a guardian account is deleted — the child may still be travelling, and another guardian may still be linked.
If you want a child’s personal data erased, ask the school or fleet that enrolled them; they control that record and we act on their instruction as processor. Where we are the controller, write to us at privacy@tripkoz.com and we will deal with it under the Privacy Policy.
7. Timing and irreversibility
In-app deletion takes effect immediately. Written requests are actioned within seven (7) days of us verifying who you are.
Deletion is not reversible. We cannot restore an account, its history, or its photographs once the request has run — there is no thirty-day holding period from which it can be recovered. If you only want to stop using Tripkoz for a while, ask your administrator to deactivate your account instead.
Backups are the one exception, and only briefly: encrypted database backups taken before your deletion may still contain the old values until they age out on their ordinary retention schedule, after which no copy remains. Those backups are not used to serve the product and are never mined to reconstitute a deleted account.
